I am LUCKY enough to have in-laws that live in Florida, hurray! So over the holidays we went to visit, with my then 11 month old. I saw this fabric highchair on Homemade by Jill and made it quickly before our trip.
Can I say I'm a genius? (For deciding to make it.)
It worked out so amazingly, so easy to keep clean and small to pack, it is so super handy!
Really, if I we didn't have this we would have been having to hold him and try to feed him and get messy ourselves...plus he likes to be messy and eat on his own so it was a win-win.
A view from the back, as long as there are some kind of holes or slats in the chair, it will work.
We even put our two year old in it now and push him up to the table so he's "stuck" and has to eat his dinner :)
Mmmm...delicious!
I also made him about 6 bibs before we left, I was in desperate need of them. So late one night I went to Walmart (my only craft option...I know) and they ONLY have iron-on Velcro...WHAT? So I tried it, left the heat on longer than recommended, and it still didn't stick all the way. Ugh all that work and I ended up tying the ends of the bibs together. Boo.
We're partying so go check out some other creations! Twice Remembered, The Girl Creative , Skip to my Lou, A Soft Place , Today's Creative Blog, Reinvented, Cottage Instincts AND AmyLouWho.

ReplyDeleteYou ARE Genius. You could have invented that pattern, too. Mr Ollie is such a cutie!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that! It truly is genius.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea and so easy to transport. Cute baby too:)
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute!! What a good idea! That would also be so perfect for when you are eating out!
ReplyDeleteAre you sure about the velcro? Because I've bought stick on and sew on at that very store. I really like that idea and will probably steal it before we fly to New York in May.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea. My son basically bypassed the high chair and just sat at the chairs at our table or on our lap.
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant! I have a 2 1/2 year old grandson and taking him out to dinner would be even more fun with a fabric chair to keep my lap free and him in place.
ReplyDeleteI ♥ it!
ReplyDeleteThat is anamazing idea! love it!
ReplyDeletethat is an amazing idea, I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI think I totally need to make one! I used to threaten to belt the girls to the chairs, and they cried, this would be so much less scary!
ReplyDeletewishing I'd had this when my littles were little!
ReplyDeletetoo cute!
the baby boy is just too sweet!
You're a genius! It also freaks me out a little that kids can eat in that position. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your version of this! We had something similar (store bought) when my daughter was small, and it was definitely a can't-live-without-it item. It also worked really well in shopping carts to make her stay put!
ReplyDeleteHe looks so comfy and cute - well done you!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love this idea! The fabrics are so fun! Lisa
ReplyDeleteA great idea for traveling! And the fabrics are so cute and cheery - great finish!
ReplyDeletethis is such a great idea...especially for keeping older kids at the table to eat....
ReplyDeleteSeriously GENIUS!!! Not only functional but super-adorable as well! I want one!! :) Two actually... :) LOVE THIS! Great work Gagen!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and great execution! I hate the stick on Velcro because it gums up sewing machine needles.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely genius--might be the go to gift for new babies! Thanks for sharing.
