I made this for Meg for Christmas. We sisters make eachother gifts for Christmas. Most every year we get angry and resentful and want to stop the tradition, but we most of the time pull through. This was one of the gifts I made for Meg. (don't be impressed, there were only two, and the other was one of the cute headbands) I got the idea from Martha Stewart magazine waiting room in the hospital in December. I had to get my septum undeviated. (I know that is what celebrities say when they get a nose job,) but not true here. I just thought it would be pretty awesome to breathe out of my nose. I think I would have survived for about 2 minutes breathing out of my nose alone before the surgery. Anyhow, I would rather deliver another baby than go through that again...okay on to the candle... all it is is a candle, mod podge, and epsom salt. You all probably don't need more detail than that right?
Then I found a super cute sparkle "J" ornament, because Meg is super cute and sparkly, and maybe because her last name starts with a "J". And just tied it on. She is loving on blues and orange right now, so I thought it would go.
Martha's turned out WAY better, but I assume Martha doesn't have 5 young children that she stays home with, or makes her own meals, or actually makes her own crafts for her magazine, or cleans her own toilets, or makes her sisters gifts, or had a deviated septum surgery, or had to pump for 3 days for her infant while she was on pain killers, which lead to some serious nursing issues, or cleans her own house, or had about 1 billion productions of her children to go to in all of December.
Bitter? obviously...

Headbands galore!
Because Meg and I are super A.D.D., and cannot focus on one project, we are now into making these headbands. If you live in Utah, you see them EVERYWHERE and on EVERYONE. Apparently, Whitney Port of "The Hills" made them famous. And they are really fun to make. We have been playing with crochet and knitting for these headbands. Decormama is having a giveaway of our headbands over at Finding Fabulous. Go check her out and sign up to win! When we find a new craft, we go OCD for a while. (Can you be A.D.D. and have OCD?, I guess we are living proof). Anyhow, the good news for you is that since we are making so many, we are offering them in our etsy store.

The flowers are all on clips so that they are interchangeable for your headbands to match your outfits.

Sweet knit winter hats...
Here is my baby 1 day old at the hospital, and I made him model his hats for a mini photoshoot. Isn't he just the sweetest! I HATE how fast they grow. He doesn't fit ANY of these hats anymore, but they were worth it to make because I have all the hats still reminding me of my tiny tiny sweetheart.
This hat is Sweet pea. Isn't it cute? I use 100% cotton for most of my hats. I don't like the itchy wool and don't want to put it on a baby that can't take it off if it bothers him. This one was for sure one of my favorites. You can find the pattern here.
Here is my funny girl with her funny "alien spaceship" hat. She loves this hat, and everyone comments on it everywhere she goes.
This one I made up after I felt skilled enough after making like 10 hats. It is super sweet. I think I may remake it bigger because it is so cute.

REmember Ya'll, Megan and I did all this knitting in the last year. And all we knew how to do was cast on and knit stitch. And when we got stuck, we did not go to our dear granny, or the sweet lady down the street, we went to you tube. I learned EVERYTHING from the internet, and not from a real life human. You can do this too!!! (If you want to that is...)

Happy Baptism quilt
This is the baptism quilt I finished up for my 8 year old Rylee. She doesn't appreciate it yet, but I imagine when I am gone from this dear earth, she will curl up with it and bawl about missing me, while looking through the pages and pages of scrapbooks I made her. (She better, or I will haunt her!)
My Rylee was baptised in October. I took her to the quilt store and had her pick out her favorite fabrics. (I had to guide her a little, or we may have horse heads, lollypops and vintage toys.)Then we both sketched and I let her pick her favorite sketch.
I LOVE the bright colors she picked out. All this applique is turn under, I can't help myself...
ahhh, so tender, her handprints...
and a baptism outfit, bootcut low rise. (and her real outfit looked almost like this )
She really did pick all these prints, I just omitted about 3 that really didn't go at all...
And backed in some snuggly delicious minky. I hope you all like :)

I felt for it
Bless my heart.
So I am in love with this felt food more than my son is. I purchased the pattern on Etsy from a shop called BuggaBugs. All I want to do is make more and more.
Sometimes I imagine I walk into my sons room and he's sitting on the floor wearing suspenders and a newsboy cap. He has a wooden truck he's rolling across the floor and he looks up at me and greets me with an English accent. Wouldn't that be adorable?
Did you have any homemade gifts that you loved more than the receiver?
