Do you have a fabric project?

Do you have a fabric project from the past week?  We'd love for you to link up and share it on our Quiltstory blog.  Today I'm sharing my finished quilt top for my bedroom (finally)!

I cannot wait to get it back from my aunt and start to bind it.  It's a good throw size and it will lay across the end of my bed.

Heather has been painting her little heart out all week, finishing up baby Weston's nursery.  You're gonna be blown away, seriously.  I can brag this much because she's my sister, right?!  Really she is quite talented, her finished rooms could be in magazines.  Do you remember Sophie's room??

I am so sorry if you just had to clean up the barf from all of your computer (out of cuteness of course).  Click here if you want to see that original post again!

Stay tuned, this week she will be sharing a major sneak peek of Mr. Wes' room!

A new Dress for Sophie!

Okay, do you love her face better or the dress???? This is the same Sandi Henderson Claire pattern used here. The pattern was so easy and cute and fun, I decided to make a dress for Sophie out of the leftover fabric from a quilt I recently finished (you will see this soon...). This line was probably my favorite of last year. It is called House by Annette Tatum for Freespirit. So pretty and vintage. Blues and browns, and pinks and browns...LOVE IT!

I just added a little pinafore to this by serging it into the waistband. I cute a simple rectangle, did a rolled hem around the edges, and sewed on two strips of ric rac. Was not any harder, but much cuter, I think I will add one to any more of these dresses I make.

The fabrics in this line are so soft and sweet. Vintage florals, ticking stripes, sweetest colors LOVE!

Just a little close of of the top. The elastic thread is magical, the shirring is SO simple, check out Sandi Hendersons blog for an easy how-to.

A good supply of binky's is what makes this little girl happy. What could be better? I wonder how long it will take her to completely destroy this dress....hmmm, don't underestimate this little pip squeaks power!
I will be linking this to A Soft Place to Land

Mommy's Quilt for Sophie

My Dear sweet Mommy made this quilt for Sophie when she was born a year and a half ago. So sweet huh? It is called "blooms for Annabelle" by Vicki Bellino of Bloom Creek.

I love this pattern. And Mom did such a great job, and it will stay in this condition, because Sophie isn't allowed to touch it! (she has about a thousand others she can touch.)

Check out the gorgeous quilting! It is done by my Aunt Wendy. She is super fabulous at what she does. I love getting my quilts back from her. She makes any quilt 100 times gorgeouser (is that a word?)

Sophie is the 28th of my Mom's grandchildren (i think) And this little boy in my tummy only 2 years later be 34! We are a bunch of rabbits!!!

Oh, and the nicest thing about my mom and her quilts, she actually lets us pick it all out. She lets us pick the patterns and fabrics for our babies quilts, so we are sure to love them. We highly recommend this strategy! Thanks Mom.

PS Ladies! We are having a GivEaWaY of something fab in the next 48 hours so you better check back! Thanks for visiting!

Sophie's crib...

Here is Sophie's crib. Dallan spray painted it, and the chandelier. This nursery took us several months, but it is officially finished!!! Sophie's nursery is done! this is one GIANT craft project, nearly everything in here I made myself or with the help of others. Here is the full photo...

The cute chandelier was a gift from Mommy, and I spray painted it pink, it makes a huge difference in the room, I want one for all my girls. The photos on the wall I took myself, I made the toole canopy with a hoola hoop and Sophie's left over bedding fabric.

I made all the Bedding (minus the sheet) Dallan's mom made the crib skirt, Dallan and I painted the crib pink. The perfect rug is from Costco (only $50).

Dallan and I did the wallpaper and trim. I have never heard so many cuss words come out of my sweet husband's mouth!

My Mommy made all these pillows from my left over quilt fabric. Bless her heart. I would never have done them. I was so burned out on the Sophie quilt that I finished a month before she was born...as fast as I could!

Here is Sophie's quilt, it is still my favorite quilt I have ever made, thus far... but I LOVE everything about it. I want to keep it away from her so she doesn't ruin it, but I let her sleep with it because she looks so cute in her crib with it...

My Mommy and I made this window treatment for Addison, but when I did Sophie's bedroom, it matched perfectly with the wallpaper. So I kept it for Soph.

The very last detail, this lamp. Megan and I went crazy making these roses out of coffee filters. (I know you all think I must have tons of spare time on my hands) Anyhow, I loved how it turned out. Here is the link to the instructions we used from Martha Stewart.
Hope you all like this room. Lots of hours, blood, sweat and tears went into finishing it.
